Center for Chemical Biology and Therapeutics

The Center for Chemical Biology and Therapeutics (CCBT) held its inaugural faculty meeting on April 22, 2025, bringing together a diverse group of faculty members from across the Universityof Chicago. The meeting served as an important milestone in launching the Center’s mission to foster collaborative research at the interface of chemistry, biology, and therapeutic innovation.

The session began with a welcome and introduction by Prof. Hening Lin, Director of CCBT, who provided an overview of the Center’s goals and strategic vision. He emphasized CCBT’s role in building interdisciplinary partnerships to drive translational science and discovery.

Prof. Jie Zhou
presented “Unlocking Intractable Targets: A Cutting-Edge Platform for Advanced Antibody Development,” discussing new tools and technologies that open up previously undruggable targets to therapeutic intervention.

The meeting concluded with an engaging discussion session, where faculty shared ideas and explored potential collaborations. The strong turnout and active participation reflected the growing interest in chemical biology and the enthusiasm for building a collaborative research community through CCBT.

Looking ahead, CCBT plans to host faculty meetings on a monthly basis, and will also organize hands-on workshops and an annual symposium to promote collaboration and showcase innovative research across the university.
